Basic Requirements: Beagles love to chase, so a secure fenced yard is important. A moderate-sized yard that is big enough for your Beagle to run and play is sufficient. Keep your dog on a leash when out of the yard. Beagles like to play, and get bored if left alone. Weekly brushing is enough to control moderate shedding.

Temperament: Beagles are active, energetic dogs. With early socialization, they make great family dogs and get along well with other larger pets.
