AKC Height:  Ideally, 9 1/2 to 11 1/2 inches.  Color:  Color is white and may have shadings of buff, cream or apricot around the ears or on the body. Any color in excess of 10% of the entire coat of a mature specimen is a fault and should be penalized, but color of the accepted shadings should not be faulted in puppies.

Basic Requirements: Bichons require at least weekly brushing, with bathing and trimming every 6 weeks. Shedding is minor.

Temperament: Bichon Frise dogs are happy, playful, and make good family dogs. They get along well with children. They will bark if a stranger comes to the door, but they are not aggressive watchdogs. Some people who are allergic to dogs aren't allergic to Bichons.
