AKC Height: Ideally, 23" to 24 1/2" for dogs; 22" to 23 1/2" for bitches. Color: Solid black or solid liver.

Basic Requirements: Early obedience training is wise for this energetic breed. Flat-Coated Retrievers need a yard that has enough room for them to run and play. They enjoy lots of human interaction.. Weekly brushing will help to control moderate shedding.

Temperament: Flat-coated Retrievers are energetic, happy dogs. They are intelligent, people-oriented, and make good family pets.
