German Wirehaired Pointer

AKC Height: Ideally, males 24 to 26 inches at the withers. Bitches are smaller but not under 22 inches. Color: liver and white.

Basic Requirements: German Wirehaired Pointers need a fenced yard with lots of room to run and play. They enjoy playing games of fetch with their owners. Weekly brushing will help to control moderate shedding.

Temperament: German Wirehaired Pointers are people-oriented dogs. They enjoy being a part of the family and are good with children.

Health (Health Dictionary click here) Health problems that can affect the breed include hip dysplasia, epilepsy, and thyroid disorders. The average lifespan is 12 years.
