AKC Height: Ideally, males 24 to 27 inches; females, 23 to 26 inches. Color: Black with tan markings, either of rich chestnut or mahogany color.

Basic Requirements: Gordon Setters need a well-fenced yard with room to run and play. Early obedience training is important. Weekly brushing will help to control moderate shedding. Occasional trimming of the coat, especially around the foot area, is needed.

Temperament: Gordon Setters are outgoing, loyal dogs that like to be a part of the family. They are generally good with children and many make protective watchdogs.

Health (Health Dictionary click here) Average lifespan is 11 years. Watch for hip dysplasia, hypothroidism, bloat
