Height: Ideally,
males 32"; females 30".
Color: Brindle
- The base color is yellow-gold and always brindled with strong
black cross stripes in a chevron pattern. Fawn - The color
shall be yellow gold with a black mask. Blue - The color
shall be a pure steel blue. Black - glossy black.
Harlequin - Base color shall be pure white with black torn
patches irregularly and well distributed over the entire body. Mantle
- The color shall be black and white with a solid black blanket
extending over the body; black skull with white muzzle. |
 | Basic
Requirements: A
large yard with a strong 6' fence is important. Great Danes should
not be left alone for long periods in the yard or they may become
bored and destructive. Since Great Danes are a large breed dog,
obedience training should be started early. Weekly brushing and
occasional bathing will keep the coat in shape. |
 | Temperament:
Great Danes
are loyal family companions. They are typically good with kids if
raised with them. Most are good watchdogs. |
