Great Pyrenees

AKC Height: Ideally, males 27" to 32"; females 25" to 29" Color: White or white with markings of gray, badger, reddish brown, or varying shades of tan.

Basic Requirements: A large, well-fenced yard with plenty of room to run and play is needed. Early socialization and obedience training is important. Twice-weekly brushing will help to control moderate to heavy shedding.

Temperament: Great Pyrenees are good housedogs. Generally calm, they can be very protective of their family if a stranger approaches. They are loyal and intelligent.

Health (Health Dictionary click here) Average lifespan is 11 years. Watch for hip dysplasia, epilepsy, PRA, Sub-Aortic stenosis (SAS), Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy (HOD)
