The breed comes in two varieties: Standard and

Toy.

AKC Height: The Toy variety is not over 12 pounds. The standard variety is between 12 and 22 pounds. Color: Jet black and rich mahogany tan.

Basic Requirements: A moderate-sized yard is large enough for adequate exercise. Manchester Terriers will do well in a smaller home or apartment with daily walks. Weekly brushing will help to control moderate shedding.

Temperament: Affectionate and intelligent, Manchester Terriers make good family companions. They will bark if a stranger comes to the door, but they are not aggressive watch dogs. The toy variety is best with older children.

Health (Health Dictionary click here) Average lifespan thirteen years. Watch for Legg-Perthes, Von Willebrand's Disease
