AKC Height: Ideally, males around 27"; bitches around 24". Color: Any color or combination of colors.

Basic Requirements: Otter Hounds require an averaged-sized yard with room to run and play. Weekly brushing will help to control moderate shedding.

Temperament: Otter Hounds are even-tempered dogs that are good with families. They can be independent in nature, but enjoy human companionship. They will bark when a stranger approaches the home, but they are not aggressive watchdogs.

Health (Health Dictionary click here) Average lifespan is 13 years. Watch for bloat, hip dysplasia, epilepsy, Von Willebrand's disease
