Quote
from an Owner: Irish
Water Spaniels are a lot of fun (they are called the
"clowns" of the spaniel family), but there is a lot of
work involved in keeping them groomed. They are born retrievers and
start carrying things around and stealing anything reachable as soon
as they can walk. They're great watchdogs, and, like Poodles, they
don't shed much. They love children, especially if they will spend
time with them throwing toys that they can
retrieve. ~ Sylvia Foreacre |

AKC
Height: Ideally,
Dogs 22 to 24 inches, bitches 21 to 23 inches.
Color: Liver.
|
 | Basic
Requirements: Irish
Water Spaniels need a well-fenced yard with room to run and
exercise. Weekly
brushing and trimming every few months will help to keep the coat in
shape. |
 | Temperament:
Early
socialization is important. The breed is not always friendly towards
other dogs. Irish Water Spaniels are devoted to their family and
make good watchdogs. |
