NEAPOLITAN
MASTIFF
Characteristics,
care, health & breeder listings below.

 | Quote
from an Owner: Neapolitan
Mastiffs are a large-breed, dense-boned, heavy-bodied dog. They have
massive heads that are heavily wrinkled with pendulous dewlaps, and
short, sleek hair in colors of blue, black, mahogany, and tawny.
Bred for home protection, they have a truly frightening appearance
to the uninitiated intruder. Neos retain the original temperament of
their ancestors and are unlike any other modern day breed, remaining
unchanged for centuries. Not an athlete, these lovable dogs are the
original "Couch Potato," preferring their master's company
above all else. Bonding fiercely with their owners and homes,
they seldom wander, and protect their property with a determined
ferocity that means business. They
are quiet and devoted companions, truly Gentle Giants in the home.
